We have had a wonderful start to the new academic year and it has been fantastic to see our school full of children, families, laughter and learning once again!

After a very busy summer, we were incredibly excited to open our doors and welcome everyone back. There have been lots of changes around the school and we hope our children are as pleased with their refreshed surroundings as we are!

What’s New?

It certainly wasn’t a quiet summer at Chislet!

A huge amount of work has taken place across the school, including decorating and refreshing our learning environments, reorganising classrooms and provision, and the installation of our brand-new toilet facilities.  Staff have also been working hard behind the scenes to prepare classrooms, resources and learning opportunities ready for the children’s return.  We are delighted with the results and it has been lovely watching the children explore and enjoy their new spaces.

Come and Have a Look! We know that the children will be keen to show their families their new classrooms and all the changes that have taken place over the summer. We are therefore opening the school to families after school on Wednesday 9th September. The gate will open at 3:00pm and children will be dismissed to their parents and carers in the usual way. Families are then very welcome to come back into school, with the children acting as your tour guides!

This is an informal opportunity for children to proudly show you their classroom and the improvements around school, rather than an opportunity to discuss individual children or their progress. There will be plenty of opportunities for those conversations with class teachers throughout the year.

Welcome to Our New Reception Children

A particularly warm welcome goes to our newest members of the Chislet family!

Our new Reception children are beginning their school journey with us this week, initially attending part-time while they become familiar with their classroom, routines and new friends.  Having already spent time getting to know the children and their families during our home visits, we are so excited to welcome them properly into Class 1.  There is no rush at Chislet. These first days are about helping our youngest children feel happy, secure and confident in their new school. There will be lots of time to explore, play, make friends and discover all the exciting things their new classroom and school have to offer.

Ready for a Year of Learning

Across the school, our children are settling into their new classes and routines brilliantly.

Our classrooms and learning environments have been carefully prepared to provide exciting, purposeful opportunities for children to learn, explore, practise, create and challenge themselves.  As always, we want our children to be curious and enthusiastic learners who feel confident to have a go, make mistakes, ask questions and be proud of what they achieve.
